Antique Pedestal Desk
An antique pedestal desk is a work area made of pedestal cabinets and a rectangular work surface, usually wooden, the desk surface rests on the two cabinets. The cabinets are used for storage and are small cupboards or a stack of drawers. Often to separate the desk user from the visitor there is a modesty panel so the legs of the desk user are not visible between the pedestal units. Sometimes the surface of the desk is inlaid with leather or a lacquer to provide a softer writing surface.

The state flower for Kansas is the Sunflower. Kansas, which is also called Sunflower State has the Cottonwood as its state tree. The 2 million residents of Kansas also keep their eyes peeled for the Western Meadowlark; which is the state bird. Look for more information about Kansas on the state website at www.state.ks.us.
